Here are some rules I have collected. I don’t follow them all.

• Do the right thing.
• Appreciate the time you have alone.
• Be patient with everyone, or you will look like a jerk.
• The closer you are with someone, the more you’ll take them for granted.
• Always charge twice as much as you think you want.
• Don’t go anywhere you can’t comfortably walk back from after 8:00pm.
• Work on remembering people’s names when you meet them.

I confess that perhaps I don’t always follow the rules because I’m lazy. Maybe that’s a human condition. I think of these rules as ones I’d tell my younger self. This list definitely makes life calmer, like journaling your anxieties or to-do list before bed. It helps me put on paper some of the little nuggets of wisdom I’ve collected, and maybe seeing them on the page helps me live closer by those rules than if they were peppered around in the ether.

Aquí hay unas reglas que he coleccionado. No las sigo todas. 

• Has lo correcto. 
• Aprecia el tiempo que tienes a solas. 
• Se paciente con todos, o parecerás un sangrón.
• Lo más cerca que estás con alguien, lo más que se tomarán por sentado.
• Siempre cobra doble lo que piensas que quieres cobrar. 
• No vayas afuera después de las 8:00 si no puedes caminar de regreso a casa cómodamente. 
• Esfuérzate en recordar los nombres de las personas cuando te las presenten. 

Confieso que quizás no siempre sigo estas reglas porque soy flojo, quizás es una condición humana. Yo pienso en estas reglas como unas que le contaría a mi ser joven. Esta lista definitivamente hace la vida más calmada, como escribiendo tus ansiedades o tu lista de pendientes antes de dormir. Me ayuda poner en papel unas de estas trozitos de sabiduría que he coleccionado, y que viéndolas en la pagina me ayuda a vivir de una forma más cercana a esas reglas que si estuvieran salpicadas por el éter.
