I guess if I wanted to pass something on to my (non-existent human child) or cat child(ren), it would be something that you do already. Perseverance. You see, when Oatmeal disfigured the eldest of you last summer and ate their leaves whole, you kept growing and overcame that incident. One we’ll never forget. The world is full of Oatmeals/Avenas who will constantly try to not only be a hurdle in your journey but will literally pull you down with their own hands (or paws). Perseverance will inevitably be a critical aspect throughout your life.I hear that another of you is currently struggling, perhaps it may now be too late, but I hope that you persevere too.  

One day in a couple of years, when you’ve grown enough, you’ll hopefully blossom into huge trees providing sustenance to whoever is taking care of you but I also hope that you remember the person that nurtured you and supported you since you were nothing but a tiny, little seed. The person who nursed you back to health after his grandmother’s cat ate your leaves. You see, sometimes we also need some additional support in order to keep going. 

And finally one day, you’ll thank them by providing some good avocados for them, the same way your brothers and sisters persevered in orchards and now, people from all around the world get the chance to taste the outcome.

Pienso que si quisiera heredar algo a mi (niño humano inexistente) o a mis gato(s bebés), sería algo que ya hacen. Perseverancia. Vean, cuando Avena desfiguró al mayor de ustedes el verano pasado y se tragó sus hojas enteras, siguieron creciendo y superaron el incidente. Uno que núnca olvidaremos. El mundo está lleno de Avenas que constantemente intentan no nada más ser un obstáculo en tu viaje pero que literalmente te harán menos con sus propias manos (o patitas). La perseverancia será inevitablemente un aspecto crítico a través de sus vidas. Supe que otro de ustedes ahorita está sufriendo, quizás ya es demasiado tarde, pero espero que también perseveren.  

Algún día en unos años, cuando hayan crecido bastante, con toda suerte florecerán a ser grandes árboles proveyendo sustancia a quien los cuide a ustedes pero también espero que recordarán a la persona que los nutrió y apoyo desde que eran solamente una chica, pequeñita semilla. La persona que los nutrió de regreso a la salud después de que la gata de su abuela se tragó sus hojas. Vean, a veces necesitamos un poquito de apoyo adicional para seguir adelante. 

Y finalmente algún día, le darán las gracias proveyendo unos buenos aguacates, de la misma forma que sus hermanos y hermanas perseveren en huertos y ahora, gente por todo el mundo tienen chance de saborear el resultado
