Hello Avocados,


I’m going to tell you a story about what was, what is, and what may be… and so on. 

You see my dearest avocados, life is but a series of interconnected cycles of living, growing, and dying. This may be a difficult thing for a little avocado such as yourself to see, but it is true all the same. You came from just a seed in the ground and have grown into a plant now. You may provide life and sustenance to others just as you get sustenance from the earth and soil. As you provide life to those around you, they will grow and change, just as you do now. As they die they will provide sustenance to the earth in which you grow. We all feed one another during our time here on earth. 

Not only do we feed one another the nutrients to live and grow, but we also feed one another the love, joy, and sorrow which brings our lives meaning and connection. This connection will transcend your life and continue on in those around you. 

I myself lost my brother almost 4 years ago. I would say that he may no longer be here to grow with me anymore, but his connections to me live on, and to all those he touched, and on to the lives they touch in turn and on and on it goes. 

And so this begs the question, is any living thing ever truly gone from this world? 

My dearest avocado, the ancestors that brought you life may be gone, but they live on in your presence just as my brother lives on in mine. They bring life to those you provide nutrients to. They bring life to those you connect with. They will continue to live on because what once was, may not be forgotten through the lives and actions of others. 

Hola Aguacates,


Les voy a contar un cuento sobre lo que era, lo que es, y lo que pudiera ser… y así. 

Vean mis queridos aguacates, la vida es una serie de ciclos interconectados de vivir, crecer, y morir. Esto quizás es algo difícil para un pequeño aguacate como ustedes entenderían, pero es la verdad de todas formas. Ustedes vinieron de una semilla en la tierra y han crecido a ser una planta ahorita. Ustedes quizás proveen vida y sustento a otros justo como reciben sustento de la tierra, mientras proveen vida a los que los rodean, crecerán y cambiarán, justo como lo hacen ahorita, y como vayan muriendo, proveerán sustento a la tierra en la que crecerán. Todos nos alimentamos entre nosotros durante nuestro tiempo aquí en la tierra. 

No solamente nos alimentamos entre nosotros, los nutrientes que necesitamos para vivir y crecer, pero también nos alimentamos entre nosotros el amor, la alegría, y la tristeza que trae a nuestras vidas sentido y conexión, esta conexión trascenderá tu vida y continuará en los que te rodean. 

Yo misma perdí a mi hermano hace cuatro años. Diría que él quizás ya no está aquí para crecer junto conmigo, pero sus conexiones conmigo persisten, y a todos los que conoció, y a las vidas que todos ellos tocarán en turno y así continua y continua. 

Y esto plantea la pregunta, ¿hay alguna cosa viva que de verdad desaparece de este mundo? 

Mis queridos aguacates, los ancestros que te trajeron vida quizás ya no están, pero continúan viviendo en tu presencia justo como mi hermano vive en la mía. Traen vida a todos los que tu provees de nutrientes. Traen vida a todos con los que te conectas, y continuarán a vivir porque lo que alguna vez fue, no se podrá olvidar a través de las vidas y acciones de otros.
